16 October 2008 - Black History Season 2008

The Mayor of London’s Black History Season which has been celebrated across London since October 1987 as part of African Jubilee year. The decision to make this an annual event each October was endorsed by the Association of London Authorities. It has grown to celebrate the contributions and cultural heritage of London’s African and Caribbean communities and their contribution to the capital's economic and cultural history. find out more

The Flashback Project web site launched today at www.flashbackproject.org.uk, providing information on the project and the people involved. Visitors can watch the documentary trailer and lodge their support for the project via the forum.
